Selecting the right storage unit can be daunting. How many supplies are you storing? Spring cleaning, garage sale or downsizing? Do you need long term or temporary storage? Is 24 hour access important? We’ve prepared a list of our top guidelines to help you determine a storage unit that will fit your needs.

  1. Before packing, do a thorough inventory of each item you want to store.
  2. Never sacrifice space for price. Using a mini storage unit could result in damage to larger possessions.
  3. Measure all of your items, counting boxes and noting their size. A store unit that’s too big can waste money.
  4. Make sure your storage unit allows you to access your belongings easily.
  5. Determine if you want to switch out your supplies seasonally.
  6. Factor in whether or not your valuables are sensitive to cold, heat, moisture or dust.
  7. Choose a storage unit that is clean, safe, secure, and mover friendly for easier shipping.
